New metal customer displays designed to meet fire, smoke and toxicity safety regulations.
Van Nuys, Calif., – December 2012 – IEE, Inc., renown for its innovative, cutting-edge display technologies, now offers the world’s first all-aluminum pole display, expanding the company’s existing line of high-quality, high-reliability retail POS display peripherals.
Developed to comply with US public transportation fire-smoke-toxicity (FST) regulations, IEE’s new 2X20 9 mm vacuum fluorescent display (VFD) pole displays are replacing molded plastic poles with those made from flame-resistant aluminum. This makes the new displays ideal for use in mass transit applications such as ferries, trains and buses.
The new VFD Pole Display is designed to communicate through either a serial or USB interface. It comes in selectable pole lengths from 2” to 22”, and can be finished with selected lens and paint colors.
Steve Motter, vice president of IEE, noted, “Our customer came to us with a set of application-specific requirements and a tight delivery schedule. IEE’s design engineering team worked closely with the customer to design a POS equipment solution that met the public transportation FST regulations.”
